ok but look here is where my confusion comes from


this is a Y-straw, clearly it's got three holes, no one can question that

but this is another straw quite like the y-straw, just at a different angle



how many holes does this straw have? it's got the same structure as the one above, so it should still be 3, right?
but two of the holes are straight, meaning that if you remove the other hole, you're left with...



a normal straw.

going by simple math, we removed one hole from a 3-hole straw, so the number of holes is 3-1=2
