i love SW battlefront 2 and even i gotta say it ain't worth 24 dollars

Yeah it is, got rid of the stuffty lootbox progression system, plenty of maps and characters, and there will be more down the line. You'd have to be on crack to not buy it for that price, especially if you like star wars. No idea why it gets so much stuff other than the now gone lootbox system.

No it's not worth it and I say this as a huge ass fan/idiot who bought Battlefront 2015. For such a big game, the developers have proven time and time again to be grossly incompotent. The game is riddled with issues such as infantry flashbangs literally taking out half of a hero's health, Darth Maul's Saber throw literally touching enemies and dealing no damage. And you might think these would be fixed in a patch but it'll take you weeks, if you're lucky, for DICE to finally patch this stuff out. The current ensemble of skins consists of rehashes from the 2015 game and slight changes to heroes like Kylo Ren with a scar, Yoda with his hood up, and Chewbacca with a bandage on his arm. The Clone Wars content is minimal (which is huge for a Clone Wars fan): the only heroes of that era are Yoda and Maul (No Obi-Wan or Anakin aka the main characters of the prequels), absolutely no Clone/Droid skins, 3 Galactic Assault maps, and 2 Starfighter Assault maps. There is a heavy lack of offline content with no Galactic Assault nor Starfighter Assault (but that's okay because it's coming Soon™). There has been a total of 2 seasons in the span of 5 months and the second one is loving Solo. The only decent thing to come from this game as of late is a temporary Ewok hunt mode.

Don't try to give this game any special treatment because of it's name. In fact, you should expect MORE because it's a AAA Star Wars Game made by the developers of Battlefield. I hope to be proven wrong and this game gets better but no doubt EA dropped this the instant they had to get rid of their cash cow lootcrates.

EDIT: Let's not forget the lack of a server browser, private matches (which was in the 2015 game), and the ability to host servers. This game will eventually die with no way to play some of your favorite modes unless you're lucky enough for DICE to bother adding them in. Nowadays you have to go to extensive efforts to organize with people just to play the DLC maps of the 2015 game otherwise you're SOL on weapon contracts or if you just wanted to play a bloody DLC map.

As tempted as I am to buy it on looks alone, I've decided to permanently abstain because of the whole microtransaction fiasco.

The man with a moral high ground.

I'm not fully in the loop on it anymore

Apparently you weren't in the loop for imglite.pro either.

Did they actually commit to this being permanent though? I'm not fully in the loop on it anymore but I recall that they didn't firmly state there would never be micro bullstuff?
