interestingly enough thats around the same time that jason west and vince zampella got fired from infinity ward and formed respawn entertainment, developers of the titanfall series
well titanfall 2's campaign was awesome
Imo the way you should look at a cod campaign is the interesting theaters the game puts you in rather than the story. I think the modern warfares and blops 1 had some of the coolest battle theaters around.
i dont know. i dont enjoy cod campaigns in general. i think games like halo nail the campaign much better, with the different enemy types and different behaviors that you have to account for, etc.
call of duty campaigns are just basically you with a gun vs 200 dumb bots and you just keep gunning them down. the only times cod campaigns end up fun are when they throw in some cool minigames, like the sledding stuff from mw2 or the motorbike chase in blops1
black ops 2 refined the campaign recipe a bit more imo. there were more varied enemy types with their own complex and niche behaviors (quads, those walking tank things, etc) and there were also plenty of little minigames and they constantly introduce all these cool scenarios and stuff. the branching paths was nice but they really didnt explore it that much
in general call of duty campaigns are just cinematic discount doom levels
