Blockland/Good Discord Servers

Author Topic: Blockland/Good Discord Servers  (Read 6351 times)

i used to think discord sucks but then all 3 of my skype accounts got hacked and turned into love chat bots

also content creators clan is a good discord server. everyone there is super nice and its not like you have to be a creator, just join and like listen to one of conan or mctwists lecture and pretend to pay attention (but dont) lol

Just like any social media, your experience is only as good as the quality of the servers you join.

i think its important to note that more than half of the people here who are anti-discord are the same people who yell at people for being unfunny :/ its almost like they don't like discord just for the memes :/ :/:/:////

it just happens that the users who are incredibly unfunny tend to flock to every discord in existence and spam meme emotes

ive significantly narrowed down my discords to a few select really private ones because ive finally gotten tired of being the dude whos banned from every bl discord but i gotta say people are still pretty toxic in all those cliquey ones even when you dont say anything so its a good idea if you pick and choose by contents and quality of stay in the server as opposed to amount of people in then

As being a part of a community that went from Teamspeak to Discord, the transition has slowly been getting better and better throughout the years as Discord slowly adds more features and surpasses what we had added on our Teamspeak way back when. A few days ago I figured out you can actually connect text rooms to voice rooms in Discord if you use a bot, and it works flawlessly, very similar to the way Teamspeak did it. The only thing now Discord needs to do is make the ability to purchase supreme servers monthly that have better voice quality and connection, but still keep the service free to people who don't want to buy that stuff.

have u ever used discord
unfortunately i have to because all my pals like it :(
not even true if you look harder lol
one of the glaring flaws of discord, why does it lack a decent way to actually find other servers? why do i need to scrounge around for invite links? on irc i can just connect to a network and be given lots of channels to choose from without having to seek out people for a stupid invite link or dig around forum threads for something which may or may not be an awful server and not worth the time it took to join in the first place. all discords might as well be loving private in the first place because their idea of "public" still requires you to find a loving invite link, what difference does it make if it's from the owner or some random in the server?

That seems more like a personal issue since I don't even go out of my way to find Discord servers. I prefer to not have my server list filled with a bunch of fluff that I dont even visit half the time. Any servers I'm in I have joined because I specifically wanted to. Server browser might be neat but honestly I don't care and probably wouldn't even use it.

why do i need to scrounge around for invite links?

you can also check out youtube channel's 'about' pages to find most discord servers if they host one, or subreddits sometimes have one on their info page

if you mean something more than just the BL community a google search gives you some custom websites of lists and lists of servers:

https://discordbots.org/servers
https://discord.me/ (forgetin' nobot...)
https://disboard.org/servers

forum topics opening communities usually present public invite links to public communities as well, you don't need to "scrounge" around for anything

if you mean private cliques everywhere, i do not see the consequence of making a friend inside the BL community and earning the trust of them giving you an invite link to said private cliques

without having to seek out people for a stupid invite link or dig around forum threads for something which may or may not be an awful server and not worth the time it took to join in the first place.

i have not seen anyone do this in discord

I agree with you on this a bit, it's annoying when you want to join a supposedly well-known and public community but have to essentially find it's secret phrase to enter. I can also understand why they do this, though. There would undoubtedly be a larger issue with bots automatically joining servers to post spam content and/or find lists of users to send PM spam.

IRC has gotten pretty good with time, but it's kinda gotten too late to reignite any interest in it. Everyone wants centralized services now because they're more convenient.

something irks me about seeing furry and bdsm servers within the first 10 results but it's nice to see that exists, despite not being a part of discord itself

my point is that the program itself lacks this functionality which, in my opinion, would be a great addition. add a tag system or something for servers, filters, etc, and it'd be good (and maybe even superior to irc).
if you mean private cliques everywhere, i do not see the consequence of making a friend inside the BL community and earning the trust of them giving you an invite link to said private cliques
the blatant insult aside, i've already played this song and dance and already have friends in several discord servers, i dont need to get close to people just to infiltrate their clique discord for a couple days and leave when there's no activity at all.

you have to remember discord's objective was to be a hybrid of teamspeak and skype ideally, so being a skype user, i don't have a problem with it

sadly, sure, there is no feature added, it is a great idea hoenstly, but you're not going to break a sweat with a simple google search as well, much similar to IRC which is the example you're bringing in

sounds like a personal issue
