http://www.metrothegame.com/news/epic-games-store-announcement/https://youtu.be/0bCt5cl8vr8Deep Silver has removed Metro Exodus from the Steam Store only three weeks prior to release, and relegated exclusivity to the Epic Games Store in favor of profits. However this sudden change has deeply pissed off lots of Metro fans (myself included.) In an effort to generate profit they've blind sided themselves. Metro Exodus will sell for $49.99 on Epic Games, but will still sell for 60.00 Euros, alienating their European market. Also the Epic Games store is Online-only, meaning you can't play any of their games offline.
Deep Silver has tried to manage some damage control by saying it will come back to Steam and other platforms on February 14th, 2020, almost one year after release.
Also keep in mind that 4A games, the developer of the Metro series has had no say in this transition, and the writer for the series, Dmitry Glukhovsky, also has no say. Dmitry Glukhovsky has posted publicly he is disappointed in Epic Games for damaging his franchise.
