its not 60% just because you did your own doctor mental gymnastics

ill stick with the public health officials and WHO's 2-3%

Calm down people we are all forumers here

theres only 80 deaths (most have pre existing conditions or old/weak immune system) theres no way its 60%

uh there is more  than that, the media is suppressing this bullstuff.

2% mortality rate my ass
lol do you not know the definition of mortality in this context

Only 153 cases have run through their course, not 4,500. What part of that do you not understand?

mortality = death

saying something has >2% mortality just cause people are still sick is like saying the % of drivers who die in car accidents can still be 60% this year since there's still so many drivers on the road

theres mathematical ways to model % rate of death to a pretty high degree of accuracy even with so few cases resolved

the 60% comes from the amount dead vs amount who've recovered. Doesn't really make sense to count people who are currently infected as part of the recovered group since we have no clue if they'll recover or not.

the WHO statistics come from their own lab testing. the fact that the current mortality rate in practice is 60% is just because of the areas that are currently subject to it and the lack of support they have. you can’t just call a global catastrophe from the outliers it starts off with

yes totally that’s why they have ebola at a <20 mortality rate when in africa it kills like 80% of its victims and is the actual mortality rate.
