Roblox Twitter fan art tends to have this cutesy style like some Flipnote animation memes back in the day, or otherwise it's the total opposite where it's muscular, tumblr loveyman tier art made by a minor who has full comprehension of human anatomy and a black-belt in lighting and shading

Just as the telephone company doesn't terminate your line if you say awful, tribal, bigoted things, we have concluded in consultation with politicians, policy makers, and experts that turning off security services because we think what you publish is despicable is the wrong policy. To be clear, just because we did it in a limited set of cases before doesn’t mean we were right when we did. Or that we will ever do it again.

official statement from cloud flare. kiwi farms stays (unfortunately)

Some argue that we should terminate these services to content we find reprehensible so that others can launch attacks to knock it offline. That is the equivalent argument in the physical world that the fire department shouldn't respond to fires in the homes of people who do not possess sufficient moral character. Both in the physical world and online, that is a dangerous precedent, and one that is over the long term most likely to disproportionately harm vulnerable and marginalized communities.
kind of a stuff brown townogy, cloudflare isn't the only group around that can protect your website from DDOS, whereas the fire department is usually the only party who can respond to a fire before it destroys everything. it's more like ADT providing security services for a neo-national socialist compound or something lol

For instance, when a site that opposed LGBTQ+ rights signed up for a paid version of DDoS mitigation service we worked with our Proudflare employee resource group to identify an organization that supported LGBTQ+ rights and donate 100 percent of the fees for our services to them. We don't and won't talk about these efforts publicly because we don't do them for marketing purposes; we do them because they are aligned with what we believe is morally correct.
lol taking money to protect whatever this anti-gay site is and putting into an unnamed charity that probably doesnt actually do anything.

In 2017, we terminated the neo-national socialist troll site The Daily Stormer. And in 2019, we terminated the conspiracy theory forum 8chan.

In a deeply troubling response, after both terminations we saw a dramatic increase in authoritarian regimes attempting to have us terminate security services for human rights organizations — often citing the language from our own justification back to us.
complete moral cowardice

they probably use the kinetic energy of their moral compass to power their facilities

I think the funny part about this is that fire departments do actually have a documented history of neglecting black neighborhoods, i.e. the homes of people who they believed do not possess sufficient moral character. it's like people think it was police manning those fire hoses in the photos of civil rights protesters in birmingham
more pertinently, it is, like you said, a stupid metaphor. not only for the reason you said, but also because that's just not what people are asking for. cloudflare is not being urged to end service to kf because of their opinions or perceived "moral character", but because they are actively, deliberately, causing material harm to other people. it's a gun shop selling body armor to an active shooter

While we believe we have an obligation to restrict the content that we host ourselves, we do not believe we have the political legitimacy to determine generally what is and is not online by restricting security or core Internet services.
why do you need "political legitimacy" to stop providing service for the guys that are just trying to make innocent people kill themselves. oh its because some of those people are trans i guess.

if iban ever does somehow get caught and arrested it's gonna be crazy how there 100% will be a documentary on him and some people in here are bound to be interviewed
