i actually don't use online recipes though, they run like stuff on your phone and waste your time for the most part. i just slap stuff into a frying pan and add spices and see what works. manged to end up making a tasty steak that way. if i do use a recipe i just follow what my mother taught me 😊 tallarines verdes is one of my favorites.

i get around the mobile recipe cancer by taking screenshots of it on my pc and dumping those into a private discord channel

biggest online recipe pet peeve is when they hide the recipe between 6 paragraphs of text talking about their grandma, her life philosophy, and their favorite childhood memories.... like idgafff gimme the recipe -_-

When there's a written recipe with a ton of detail but no ingredient amounts you have to scroll past to get to the same exact recipe but with the ingredient amounts this time.
Pretty good example:

If you're on a computer you can press "end" and it brings you to the bottom of the page, then press page up 2-4 times. I do it automatically now when looking for a recipe.

i had a recipe for sticky toffee pudding cake that was pretty good... though i only followed half the steps and i havent made it in years
also simple peanut butter chocolate cups

good times

recipe websites that i saw put their rambling long-winded explanations first then put a summarized title-card version of the recipe with clear ingredient amounts and numbered steps... dunno if that's universal

in the past, i used to stumble across 3-4 recipes of the same thing and try to find the middle ground between them all

Kalakukko with sourdough bread instead of rye

I just got some cast iron crockery and I'm almost brand new to cooking things from scratch. Does anyone here have any simple recipes they genuinely enjoyed/were satisfied with making when they were starting out?

an easy go-to. all you need is some ground beef, macaroni noodles and tomatoes/pasta sauce. season to your liking and add some shredded cheese. I like to add a small scoop of sour cream to mine. goes great with a grilled cheese or other toasted sandwich. delicious :)

Ive been posting recipes I've been making to the Creative channel on brickadia discord, but I haven't yet collated into one place.
Here was tonight's recipe, however:
Quote
Chicken Taco Avocados
I don't really know what's taco about it besides the seasoning.
It's actually a pretty bizarre dish, you broil it in the skin of a hollowed out avocado then add the avocado back in the form of a lime-avocado-ranch topping.

Utterly strange yet it has been a consistent hit every time we have guests over.
