Author Topic: A new X3 game, now with bad-ass trailer  (Read 1657 times)

X3 Terran Conflict is a new stand-alone game (not an Expansion for X3 Reunion) that is scheduled for release sometime in December 2008

Not much word on it yet, but they seemed to have added some elements of awesome to it (better explosions, cool new missile effects). Hopefully it will be a bit more user friendly then the last X3 game.

Speaking of which, X3 Reunion is currently available for buy and is the game I'm currently hooked on. The X games play allot like a mix between Star wars fighter games and a 3D space RTS, giving you the ability to command fleets of ships to wage epic wars or to dominate the market through trading, or both. The Xtended mod (acknowledged by the creators of the game for it's awesomeness) also adds a stuffload of ships and stuff to the already expansive X3 Reunion game. Not sure how much X3 is right now, but I recall it was available on Steam if you guys were interested enough to try it out.

G4 Review (tl;ds, Missions suck, trading's boring and can be automated so just go fight pirates instead): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pi8n6uN091E&feature=related

Post whore.

Anyhoo, I love almost any Elite-alike, and I love the X series.
yayrus!

i love the graphics, cant blame me

shud be X4.

Nah it's a trilogy, so they can only have 1 2 and 3.

About time.

I just hope it's not just XTM with a $20 price tag.

X3 really needs better combat AI.

X3 really needs better combat AI.

This. The current's AI's tactic of "Beeline towards an enemy while making no attempt to dodge incoming fire and THEN take evasive action once I'm half dead" isn't working for them. I'm still hoping they'll buff out all the minor errors/glitches/inconveniences in this next game.

Indeed.

Space Force: Rogue Universe has some of the best space combat AI I've seen in a while.

Enemies will kill their engines, spin around rapidly to shoot at you, spin around and afterburn away, then come back at you from the direction of the sun so that you cannot see them, and they will repair their ship with nanobots (although they do it WAY too much when you're level 30 or above) versus the stupid X3 "run at you and tap the fire button once in a while, then turn around and use only the turret" method
