Computer To Run Crysis

Author Topic: Computer To Run Crysis  (Read 3678 times)

I was wondering how much I will have to shell out for a computer that will run Crysis on the highest Settings with good frame rates. I'm guessing around $1,200 for the computer and video card. Please post computer parts too if you want.

I paid about 1,450 for my PC, and it runs crysis fine at ultra high.

8800GT 512mb, 2gb ram, intel q6600 quad core.

I was talking dollars.

I talk dollars if they talk dollars.

I am actually going to build a lower high end computer.

That has 8800 GT 512 mb, 2gb DDR2 RAM, 3.0ghz AMD Athlon dual core 6000+, 250GB SATA-II 16MB Cache Hard drive powered by 580watts.

Price comes to £577.97 inc VAT which is: $1141.03

GG with that, but I think you'd be better with a Q6600.

Crytek was able to get Crysis to run on high settings with a computer worth only $900.

i normally call a 900dollar comp pretty crappy.
i recommend anyone to pay at lowest 1500 for a desktop, and even more for a laptop (of course)
its unfortunate, but with stupid moore, you have to think at least 2 years ahead. that 900 dollar computer now will run like crap in 2 years.

its unfortunate for people that want to be pc gamers, they either have to have the money, or stay a step behind and play games in low detail to get by.
i like to keep my computer 2 steps ahead if i can to enjoy new games at their peak time, rather then 2 years later when an average computer can.

but thats a terrible argument to use on the average computer user or gamer

IMPOSSIBLE, NO COMPUTER CAN RUN CRYSIS ON HIGH! :O

I'm going to assume that's sarcasm, but if it's not I have a
friend that can play on high.

many comps can lol, im sure hes joking.

theres more to "playing on high" then having all settings up and meeting 30fps
most computers cant get a true high settings play, theres more then ingame settings

i got all settings up, and even custom video settings of even higher AA then the game has options for.
and im playing on a 24 inch screen (1920x1200 /w 85refresh) instead of your standard gamer's 17 or 19
it can be harder to use high settings for many more reasons then just a video card, ram, and processor. that most people tend to consume their thoughts with

Holy crap, you people have MONEY.

I'm getting a job when I get into my junior year.

That sucks for me and you both chex we have 2 more years, till we can get money...

Well...I have been refining my component list for my own gaming rig which I will soon purchase (going with parts from newegg).

It may not be 1337 enough for those of you with wallets the size of small whales but it will be a respectable gaming machine. I don't even run my games on the ultra high resolutions anyway :D

thats a pretty good comp for that price
