i like this idea, but what i suggest is when the DEMO player comes in:

If he takes up on player slot - say that DEMO WATCHER Connected/SpawnedArrived

If he dosn't takes up a player slot - don't even say anything

Is it even possile to have someone join a game without taking up a slot?

Have 2 slots? Like a normal player slot and a Demo watcher slot.

The server still has to give the information to the client, so I wouldn't want my server's resources taken up by people who haven't bought the game and or people taking advantage of it because of f8.

Why not give at the end of the tut on demo mode, or when you run out of bricks, it shows you a video of online play, we could all send in clips to make it :P

imagine how some random users just connect and eat your bandwidth lulz..

besides, once you connect to a server, you consume the server's bandwidth, thus leaving blockland owners lag like time freezes...

The suggestion is good but just limit the amount of demo users that can connect and all will be happy...

It would be selectable but if it wasn't I wouldn't update to V9 and hack it so I can still make V8 servers. To hell if I'm letting laggy people in my servers.

unless BS hosted (or had hosting done) for 2-4 servers that only demo users can join.
i guess 150 bricks per person could still apply.
could at least solve the problem of stealing paying member's bandwidth, and unknown ID numbers from random people being uncontrolled.
could even have them all be mute lol.

but BS could load in any addon, save, or whatever he thought would be fun to show off. whatever content of the month he feels like adding.
but to moderate those servers would suck... make more limits, or trust a few random blocklanders to stop in daily

Just make it another server pref, like what FlyGuy said. That way, if you want to show others your builds you can. Maybe a ping limit otherwise.

How about a server, that runs the Demo "Engine". Kinda like when you download a multiplayer trial for a game on Xbox live. Where you play on a server that only has people on it who also are playing the demo of the game.
