Author Topic: Port Forwarding for the Absolute Dummy  (Read 14292 times)

Most lag is generally down to the internet connection.

That is what I was gonna guess, but I rehosted, and it has been working fine for over an hour now.

For my router, port forwarding only forwarded to static LAN IPs you set, I had to set one up for my wireless connection before it worked.

Other routers might not require this or come with specific options on the router page to set a LAN IP instead.

This is a good guide. Thanks, Ephilates.

My IP thing says IPv4, will that work?

Where can I find my router model?

Yes I know its a nooby question

2. Find your Router model number from the list and click it. Usually you can find this information by looking at the router itself, or asking your parents or whoever bought it.

Ya I can't find it on my router and my dad knows stuff on computers

Wait I found somthing it says
Dimension E310
is that it?

I think you're looking at your computer. You should be looking for something like this:

When I type 192.168.0.1 in the address bar it comes up Ask.com search, any soloutions?

Go to your network connection in the bottom right, right click it and press Status. Then go to Support at the top and look at the Default Gateway - put this into your website bar.

Now it comes up something witch ain't letting me in D:
