Author Topic: Guitar Hero 4!  (Read 2929 times)

It's been announced in the June addition of Game Informer, and it looks to be a solid hit. Fully customizable characters and it has the full band peripherals, all of which are wireless, and the drum set looks sweet. Unlike Rock Band, it has 5 pads, two placed up higher for the cymbals, three where the Rock Band pads were, and then a bass pedal. Drums are said to be way quieter, feels more like a real drum set, and are going to be more durable. The game is going to have a create your own song addition, sort of like Jam Sessions, but it looks sweet. You can set up chords with button combinations and stuff like that. And they have different effects for the instruments. All in all, it looks to be a really good game, will keep updated, because I really haven't finished reading the article.

No, it's technically not a rip-off of rock band, full band options have been present in Red Octane and Harmonix or w/e since before GHIII and Rock Band, said so themselves, Harmonix did not invent the idea of a full band. I'll try and find a link, but the magazine came today in my mail sooooo, idk if I will be able to.

well, i still find the idea unoriginal

Picture of the drums, I would suggest going to a local Gamestop and reading the article if you can't find it on the net if you are interested.

Well, I like this more, mainly because I didn't have the money to get the full Rock Band kit so I bought the game and used my GHII guitar. And since these new drums are better and are supposedly much more durable, I will get them instead, along with the guitar, because I need a new one soon. Seeing as I will have a job by then.

I saw something called "Guitar Hero: Aerosmith" Coming soon or some nonsense in Gamestop recently.

GH: Aerosmith is 1 of the GH4's

Steven Tyler says so

Yuck. Guitar Hero should have died out when Harmonix moved on to Rock Band.

Rock Band 2 pls.

Listen to this man! The drum set does look better than Rock Band's, but I'll probably  wait for the Rock Band sequel too.

Rockband will no doubt 1up GH4 with letting you put lyrics somehow in your customized songs.

I don't see the need for the cymbals. Just about every song uses more than 3 different drums. I don't know how they're going to pull that off with only 3 pads. In Rock Band the cymbals, drums, and hi-hat swap out on the fly during songs. (say red is snare, then it switches to hi-hat for some parts, then back to snare). It's a little weird, but it works.

It's not a Rip-Off if the same company made it.
