Yeah, that 3x exp thing is true, my friend and I did it. Average leveling time just playing casually : Less than a week.

Total playing time on the toons I got to 60 were under a two days.


EDIT: Also, if Nick and Goron are going to be doing that, be prepared to spend some gold Goron. Cost me around 300 for each toons skills, 35 for the mounts as well.

The exp rates are only 3 times when you are in a group with that friend. That friend cannot be above 60, or equal to 60 I believe. That's why it is best to level two new characters together.
