Well, you can always get it modded :P

and a system update would break it

Indeed

When someone asked Nintendo why they even use region locking, they answered "To release the games on time in each country and so people don't have them early".

Why did they deliberately block Gamecube games from other countries, then? They've already been released and it would be nice if I could play Super Smash Bros. Melee on the Wii instead of wiring up the Gamecube again.

The European Wii can read American Gamecube games, someone found a 'glitch' to make it read them if you swap a normal/imported disk as it is starting (this was fixed...) and the Freeloaders do work without changing much. (Until they're fixed)

You got melee NA release?

I actually don't recommend spore for the Wii, but for the computer, because it is better to have a stable hand when creating creatures.

I recommend.
LoZ:TP --if you like epic adventures that are epically great.
Mario -- if you like playing with gravity and platformers, and all around fun games.
Brawl -- if your a Nintendo fan with friends.
Mario cart -- if you like racing
Wii play -- if you need more Wii motes, this game is basically $10 and is a fun little game.
Dammit.  :cookieMonster:
Online mode. Yay.

Also lack of released in Europe. I don't care if it says 'color' instead of 'colour', I'll forgive them if they give me Smash Bros now!

Super Paper Mario is not very much like the other games. Sure, it references them and has nice dialogue, but to me the game seemed to be one massive fetch quest. Most of the bosses are very easy.

Get Metroid Prime 1 if you haven't played it yet or 3 if you have. They are very good games. 2 isn't as good and Hunters is too 'generic shooter' rather than puzzle, in my opinion.
Beware, online sucks.

anti-piracy measures

I was not aware that spore comes out for Wii.  I will make a trip to Walmart and purchase a copy of it so I can spend days playing it.
