Back in the day when I played WoW(very briefly) someone actually called me a noob for refusing to duel them-- they were 10 levels higher than me. I was a cleric/priest/whatever its called.

Sometimes, when an MMO is new and all the mainstream PLVL ME LFG WTT WTB WTS cigarettes have not found it yet, there is a good core community and you can have a good time talking to people even while grinding.

In Hero online I was one of the best know players on a server (I was actually taken into a major House just because they wanted to have all the people who were well-known.) and I was only level 40 or lower.  Most of the other people were 50-90.

Similar happenings in Conquer Online, and various other RPGs.  It's just a question of having people to talk to while you grind.  And every now and then you might do something as a group, which is always fun.

Know what you mean.  I had a great guild in SCO before it was shut down, I managed to play it for about a month straight and got to around level 37.  Still don't know what happened to them.
