Caesar's Pool

Author Topic: Caesar's Pool  (Read 3390 times)

Hey guys, I've been working on this map for quite a while now, and I've lost the motivation to finish it.

If you wouldn't mind giving me some motivation/suggestions for my map, I would greatly appreciate it.

Recent screenshots can be seen below.

Here's a few more, I don't want to overload the page with too many pictures.

Looks good, but what could it be used for?

The bottom of the pool is "non-floatable" so you could host a deathmatch at the bottom of the pool really easily.

The sides around the pool are open for building, as is underneath the building.  I'm going for just a general map that's good for everything.

The columns are also nice to build bridges across so you can have a tightwire minigame of some sort too.

Put the water's density to 0.153, it makes it so you can be AFK underwater.

Make some secrets, maps that have some cool easter eggs and secrets are always fun :)

Yeah, like one of the collums have a hole in it that lead into the pool or something, or a pipe in the pool you can go through that leads to a secret room, That would make it much more fun.

Secrets in maps never stay secret for long.  :cookieMonster:

Alright, no thanks to your guys' motivational posts, I've got a lot of work done on the map.  It's a bit early to say, but I'm planning on releasing it early-mid july.  I'd like to get a little suspense before the release so that I can get some people to download it unlike every other map.

I take offense at being poorly removed from your beta screenshots.

EDIT: Boltster also takes offense at his removal from your beta screenshots.

Another person who'll take offence at not receiving the attention they wanted.

Who cares if you are not in a screenshot? It's just a game, Foo.

you should scale it to real life size not blockland size

It's a little larger than "blockland size" but I realize it's not "real life" size either.  It's somewhere in between so that there's a nice balance between realism and playability.

I didn't want the map to be too large to the point where you can't find anyone in the map but I wanted it large enough to have some freedom.  Thus I found a medium, but I'd think it leans closer to "real size" despite the screenshots apperance.

Thanks for the input!

I would really like to see this released when you are ready. It looks great. We needs more high-quality interior maps. (Not saying that we don't have any)
