Forest Fire

For the past 2 days, there's been a MASSIVE fire not too far from my home. It's gone through huge sections of forest, been blown across roads by the gusts of wind, and it's destroying property left and right. There's a huge mass of firefighters and aircraft trying to control it, but it doesn't seem to be stopping until the wind calms down.

At the moment, the rough figures are

3-4 km wide
15 km long (that is ONE HUGE FIRE)
2000+ homes evacuated
5000+ people evacuated
2 houses destroyed
20? houses damaged

I'm scared as hell; I don't think it's going to hit my area, though.

Also we can see the smoke cloud and aircraft from our school. It's crazy.

It's a ways off to the east. It's still aiming south (towards the ocean) so I think it's fine.

Hide anything underground, fires cant reach you if your in a ditch. It will go by you in a ditch. Or maybe find some steel and put it on top of the ditch :).
