The frame is complete. I now await the purchase of many thin wooden strips for the skin.

Models are cool. I've been working on them ever since I saw my dad and grandfather making them. It's something I do in between my artwork and working.

Currently I'm finishing up the painting on my Revell 1/72 Gato Class sub. Except I did some modifications after seeing some pictures for myself. (It's taking alot of time, hot weather makes paint from the airbrush do strange things) Plus its big, 52" to be exact.

This model is 6'2" (74"). It's a lot to work with, but it makes details easier.

Also, Ronin... make it look dirty and grimy :-). I'm thinking about adding some subtle rust to mine after seeing a weathered model... it adds so much to it. After reading about fiber optics, I'm considering lighting it too. The optics would never break or wear out so I wouldn't have to worry about breaking the model open to repair anything.

just put a huge 600w light inside and make the windows clear, lol. *goes into thought* "FIER!!!" */thought*

I can for exterior, but as I said, I can not risk a light bulb failing inside the ship. Fiber optics is the smartest way to go about lighting the hull.

also, consider designing in some protection in the funnels so you can put dry ice in there and make it look like it's...boiling? (idk the correct term)

I know that...I meant the term for having the ship running. "Operational" is the word I was looking for.
