Author Topic: TITANIC (model)  (Read 19207 times)

so hows the ship going nao?

It couldn't be better. I have now completed the stern post (seen in photo below) so I can now finish the lamination process. Seeing as how long this thread as gone on, should I make a new thread once the basic hull is complete?

Anyway, here is the piece I was dreading. It was made from two thicknesses of basswood that I laminated to achieve the correct thickness (.16 inches. 2 feet on the real ship). The prop shaft is made from a ball point pen casing that happened to be the correct diameter. I will attach this to the model tomorrow.

Keep going on this thread. It would be dumb to make a whole new topic.

Way to be blunt. Not to say that's a bad thing. :-P

I'd comment on that rudder thing you made but I am busy staring at your avatar.

Wow! It's coming along great! You should go buy a  :cookie:!

No. Never use that emote again.

Yet another update. I have embarked on a daunting task: the stern. As you will notice, there are places not covered with strips; these will be filled with balsa as it was on the aft-most point of C-deck. Comments are still appreciated.

Are you gonna continue building your blockland version of the titanic? I miss your server. One can only stand DMs and freebuilds for so long...

No. Not for a few months at least.

I don't have the time. :(

I only get to work on this model about an hour per day.

No Senioritis for bones?

No, it has reversed for me.

I have completed the lamination and have started the filling and sanding stage. It still requires being filled again as the wood has started to breathe and disrupt the current layer. Hopefully this problem will desist. Here are the pictures, and please overlook the overly messy shop. I am not an organized worker.

For the heck of it, here is an old drawing-in-progress that I found last week. The quality is low due to the fact that the scanner is broken and I took the pic with my camera.

Comments are appreciated!
