Well, we could discuss Yahtzee's review of MGS4, but it's obvious we can't.

If you really wanted him to kiss ass and praise your favorite game then go to Gamespot, they are quite happy to go with the hype.

He doesn't tell you to avoid buying the game and he even states that those that will like the game have probably already bought it.

but HL2 has cutscenes

Where?

All he's looking for is a game to shoot some bad guys

He writes and creates his own games, he is hardly a dumb wit just looking for a cheap gun battle. His main comments were centered around the disproportionate FMV segments of the game. I don't his claim is to throw away the story line, nor dumb it down. You just don't need that much stuff crammed down your throat for that length of time.

Thank you tails for being the first one to laugh. I think some people around here need to take some laxatives.

he may criticize games, but you can't do it on a linear chart where you would check off things as you go, you gotta make considerations and he has failed to do that with some games.

Almost all media reviewers (be it in magazines or online) review the given media in a certain order. It makes the articles familiar, easy to read, and allows for one coherent thought to lead to the next. Sometimes reviewers mix it up by mentioning the gameplay or story first, then the visuals, sometimes they do it the opposite way. Doesn't really matter.

Hl2's cutscenes are ALWAYS interactive, you can always move and do whatever you want

so not really a cutscene then :3

Still a cutscene.
When Gman talks to you in the beginning, that's a cutscene, too.

Ya, but it is less than 5 minutes long. MGS4 would be grateful to have a cutscene last less than 10 minutes.

You're just bitching because the cutscenes are long? Oh my, that's hysterical. Mind you I didn't even watch his review.

that game bores the crap outta jess  :(

Tried playing it with my boyfriend, well watching it... and good lord..

ZZZZ

I'm saying this all fanboy-ism aside.  It would be ridiculous to ask that MGS has less story when that is an integral part of it.

BULLstuff YOU FANBOY. I haven't played MGS4 yet so I have no opinion on it but god damn do I know a fanboy when I see one.

Actually, I did manage to see that one battle, Snake and Liquid (?) fighting in the Metal Gears, Rex vs. Ray, on Youtube... to me it seemed like gungungungun rocketrocket run away dodge gungungungun dodge run away rocket gungun rocketrocket... didn't seem that immersive or fun to me.

I stopped there.

I just think that people who get emotional over reviews are fanboys.

Like you.

You're so loyal to the goddamn game you can't just sit back and laugh in agreeance or simply point out a difference in opinions.

I was getting emotional?  I was simply pointing out my opinion, fanboy-ism aside.  Of course I'm a fanboy, why else would I need to include the "fanboy-ism aside" if I wasn't?

So,
I'm saying this all fanboy-ism aside.
didn't mean you weren't being a fanboy in your previous posts? That's what it seemed to imply from the word 'all'.

Also, emotional:
Yeah, sorry, I never knew you were mentally handicapped.
You're right, everyone should be idiots like you and Yahtzee.  I'm convinced.
One of the things he said was bad, are viewed by people without ADD as good

I'm betting you liked Yahtzee until he hit a soft spot on you.

That's what passes for emotional?  Alright, well, I like his reviews when the game is actually bad (MOH Airborne, Haze, etc.) but when your main problem is too much story in a game that's story is a GIANT part, you're missing the point.  I've never gone to a Quentin Tarantino film and complained about too much killing because that would be simply idiotic.  (Sorry for that reference, I just watched Reservoir Dogs again)  :D

Yahtzee don't like storys. He likes killing people. With guns that shoot shurikens and lightning
