Author Topic: Team Fortress (series)  (Read 5231 times)

Team Fortress itself is a series of class-based games. These classes are Soldier, Demolitions Man, Sniper, Pyro, Medic, Engineer, Spy, Scout, and Heavy.

It started out as a mod for Quake (1996) and became very popular and epic. The developers decided to start on a Team Fortress 2  for Quake II (1997), but all work on that was scrapped when they joined Valve. They then made Team Fortress Classic, a mimic of QTF on the GoldSRC engine, or the Half-Life (1998) engine.

Team Fortress 2 was again being developed, but now on the GoldSRC engine, subtitle Brotherhood of Arms. It featured realism and stuffs. When development switched to Source, TF2 was given a cartoony art style instead of the realistic one. The cartoony style has proved to be awesomely awesome and epicly epic.

TF2 is $19.99 on Steam, and TFC is $4.99

The original mod for Quake can be downloaded Here.

I'm going to give the non-compgeek answer:

BUH?

so its cartoon cause its easyer to make awesome graphics?

and is there a demo?

and is there a demo?
No, but if an huge update comes out for it, they most likely have an free weekend.

Does anyone have an extra copy of TFC they don't want and is willing to give it to me for free?

lol, me 2.

I have TFC, but I wont give it! :P (PS. Why would you want it, it's like TF2 with sucky graphics)

And vehicles. I didn't play any custom maps on TFC, but on CS there is a mario kart racing map, and I'm sure someone made something similar for TFC.

Hold on, lemme grab the new book I bought: PEOPLE ARE DUMBASSES:

It says Graphics<Gameplay.

Huh, odd.

It also says, the computerr can't run it

Also says that parents are oppressive.

I guess people really are dumbasses.

Me neither, the classes are too exotic, I would prefer just a guy with a standard rifle, oh and one reason for cartoony style is the graphics never go "out of style" (better graphics come along).

TFC and TF2 are both very good, I kinda like the solly in TFC more than TF2. I bought the HL1 Anthology just for TFC :D
