Author Topic: New Graphics Card : D  (Read 6216 times)

Well, I will be getting a new graphics card soon. Its not one of those "WOW OMG NOOB EATING POKEMON" type cards, but it's the greater of the two cards that can work with my power supply. I'm getting an EVGA GeForce 8600 GT. However, thats a huge upgrade from my GeForce 6150SE. I cant wait : )

I just got an 8800GTS upgrading also from a 6150. :D

Good luck with that.

I ahve a computer with your old graphics card. I don't ahve one with your new one, but it should make a big diffrence

What's wrong with GTS?

I'm not too savvy with hardware. How do you find out what the best video card is for your power supply?

You need to know your voltages by opening your case.

A GTS is not as good because they do not have as high speed as the others. Fo the 8800 get a GT.

[8800TX] a power miser, too, and even a pair of 8800GT cards uses less power than a single GTS.

I used some thing on the nVidia site. Ill post link when I find

Edit: Found http://www.nvidia.com/HelpMeChoose/fx/HelpMeChoose.asp

The problem is if you have a cheap PSU then this is inaccurate.

I got my GTS 640Mb for 200$. :D

if your looking at just the 8800 series of cards, it should be in this order, from least amount of "power" to greatest...

GS   <--are you serious?
GTS  <--meh
GT    <-- good
GTX  <-- great
GTX 280  <--now we're talking...

Also, for the GT, stick to the 512 mb version as it is an upgrade over the 320 and 640 mb versions.

GTS 640mb is not that win :(
