Clonk Rage

I like when you drop something when hanging on a wall bedcause it looks like he stuff it out. :cookieMonster:

I finally finished the first mission (the recover the 3 skulls mission). Pretty challenging. Had to drain a cavern and build 2 elevators to rescue the final skulls. Wasp nests were a pain too...so times I thought I was holding clay and I would throw it and the tunnel would fill with wasps...then it was time to run like hell to the exit.

I only have the demo...anyone care to make a server for meh?

I would, but whenever I make a server, no one joins! -_- So I  guess it is grayed out. Me and two of my friends really like to play clonk on gold mine. I have fun burning down their house with the catapult launching super flints XD

Wait.

I was googling around and found some Xbox 360 controller drivers to work of your computer! (yay it works with PC and MAc OS, sorry Linux) So I downloaded it and installed it and soon found out that Clonk supports controllers and gamepads! So I plugged in my spare, wired controller and tried. After a little bit, eventually yay v9 reference! I got it to work amazing well, and it actually amps up the smoothness in control. On the Mac OS, a preference pane is created to fully control the controller (E.g. inversion). Windows also I am pretty sure has one. This should work for the demo too! By the way I am forced to use a Mac to access the internet seeing that my Windows is offline. Don't forget that the driver can also be used for other games that support controller usage! These drivers work for Wired controllers (preferably) and Wireless seeing that you have something to connect to for your computer...

Drivers

Windows: http://www.matt-land.com/xbcd/ (Sorry no Vista-specific drivers on this page, maybe XP drivers will work)

Mac: http://tattiebogle.net/index.php/ProjectRoot/Xbox360Controller/OsxDriver (I liked this version best personally, OSX only!)

I was messing around with the controller and found out that there are only two "bugs" if you want to call them that about controlling Clonk with the XB360 controller. One: DO NOT select the "Control Menu with controller" option in the controller setup section in options, it will randomly mess around (lol) in your options panel. Its very annoying. Two: You can not abort a running game with the controller, keep the muse out of the way, even though you are controlling with the game pad to abort the game. And just a tip, plug in the controller before you start Clonk, I got better results that way.

Heres a layout of the controller map that I recommend for you* (Set the controller layout in the options tab, preferably "GamePad one" you have to manually set the configuration in options, it won't work automatically.)

All in all, I think that it is worth it playing with the controller, have fun!

Has anyone figured out how to use the pump?...I still haven't figured it out.

I think it may actually be cheaper and easier in that particular level to just build an elevator and take down the empty barrels myself. How does the pump work? does it just spray the oil out on the surface or something? Does it automatically fill the barrels somehow?

I haven't personally tried to use pipes or pump oil, but I will try it now. By the way, you know how to bring objects and things into your house, like a chopped tree for example?

You have to connect an output pipeline to where you want the liquid to go, otherwise it will just spray it up on the surface. Or maybe it just won't pump, I can't remember.

If you want to sell oil, connect the pipeline to your house and buy lots of barrels. As they fill up, sell them, and use the money to buy more.

I don't know if Clonk Rage still has the oil derrick, but if it does, just use the pump instead because it's a lot easier. Only use the oil derrick if you've got LOS on the oil, you know exactly where to put the derrick on the surface, there isn't any rock in the way, and it's too long for the pump pipeline to reach. Then again, they might have changed oil derricks and made them suck less.

Jookia can host in Clonk but I don't know when she goes on Clonk

I can't connect to your server, Bio Spark. By the way, I'll be ingame as Ancient.

with the pump. connect a line to it, then to the oil derreck.  Then get another line, and connect it to where you want it droppped off.  (base works best)  Make sure to have lots of empty barrels in the base.  Then sell all but the last one.  They are worth a stuff load of money.  ($25 per barrel)

What happens if there aren't any barrels left in the house?

It leaks all over and lets gravity have it's way with it.
But always leave at least 1 with oil in the base if you plan on selling.
