Author Topic: Art Board?  (Read 5594 times)

I say we just use off-topic.
I hate too many boards, I don't even look at drama any more :X

I think a creations board would be effective. I find myself wondering where to post things such as a movie since it seems that it could apply to "General Off Topic", Gallery, or General Discussion.

Off-topic seems to work. I think adding Community Projects was a stretch, since no one really has anything to show for it as far as successes.

I wouldn't feel obligated to share my artwork with people not familiar with critiques or who don't have any clue what the difference between a pastel and a crayon.

I would use it if we had one.

I'd love to have an Art Board. People could get some pretty nice looking backgrounds. :D

I think Comm. Proj. could collapse back into Off-Topic.  Although someone with decent knowledge about how to run a CYOA or forum game could technically save the section from the hell to which it has gone.

Mod. Disc. and Gen. Mod. Help could merge.

Drama should fall back to the OT category.  As it is it seems to just be a forum that exists so that Badspot can showcase idiots complaining about crap rather than deleting the posts.

You could probably merge all AoT discussion into one forum, but I think that it might just be a waste of effort.

In my own experiences with an Art board, it NEEDS to be general, on DRLFF I created(at least I think I was responsible for it) an art board for stuff related to CC, and it's become inundated with random stuff.  There's a reasonable number of such threads around here, but the CYOA and other such threads would still fall under the Off-Topic forum.

One thing I notice is that there are no subforums on OBL, I don't know if this is by preference coincidence or technical limitations, but subforums could be used for several of the above mentioned forums.

I think an art board, however interesting it may sound, will just be spammed with topics that don't fit the guidelines. I don't think I would like to see anymore richard drawings polluting the boards.

I think it would end up unused like the Comm. Projects, with a small amount of good content, but a greater number of spammed crap.

It would give a proper home to my "post models here" topic (that curently resides in the wrong section and needs a proper home). So I say go for it.

Unless it takes money or the labor of a hundred slaves I would think that it wouldn't fly. But I'm guessing that's not it.

Just a suggestion, but would it be possible to have sub categories? There's a rather popular image based forum who does this a similar way.

Bump.

I'm in favour of this, still.

As am I. Art tends to get swamped in General Off-Topic.

I'd go for an Art board, and maybe it could be for writing too?

I don't remember this, what I voted for, or even voting.  D:

i would use the art board/ look at it i think you should add it.

I would enjoy having this. It'd be neat seeing the community's art without picking through tons of other topics, and it'd clean up this board.
