Blockrace is(or is going to be) a class based minigame where each team hauls bricks from a center pile to their base and the objective is to be the first team to build X amount.

Classes:

Rocketeer -- Defensive
 The slowest class, but wields a powerful rocket launcher to eliminate attacking troops.
 100 HP
 Hauls 3 bricks per load

Runner -- Offensive
 The fastest class, carries a pistol & a hammer.
 80 HP
 Hauls 3 bricks per load


Trooper -- Support
 Meduim speed, carries a scattergun & a grenade. Useful anti-Rocketeer class.
 90 HP
 Hauls 2 bricks per load

Builder -- Support
 Medium speed, can outrun a Rocketeer but is outdone by a runner. Used for hauling. Carries launch-wrench.
 100 HP
 Hauls 10 bricks per load

Each class also carries a stealer, melee weapon that destroys an enemy brick and adds it to your load.

Weapons

 Pistol
  Fast shooting gun with high spread.
  Holds 6 bullets, shoots 1 bullet per shot.
  Reloads 1 bullet per second
  10 damage a shot
  1/8 chance of critical shot.

 ScatterGun
  Slow shooting gun with very high spread.
  Holds 12 bullets, shoots off 1-5 bullets per shot.
  Reloads 2 bullets in 1 & a 1/2 seconds
  5 damage a shot
  Chance of critical varies.

 Rocketlauncher
  Slow firing rocket launcher with no spread.
  Holds 1 rocket, shoots off 1 rocket.
 
  <damage, chance of critical, and reload still need to be balanced>

 Grenade
  <not implemented yet>

 Hammer
  <not implemented yet>

 Launch wrench
  <not implemented yet>



Crits
 Critical hits double the amount of damage a bullet/rocket does.

I'll join when it's done. Sounds interesting. (Even though I said that already)

Also just a little bit about the trooper since hes a new addition since my previous idea

The trooper is an all-rounder that has medium speed, medium hp, and some useful weapons. His scattergun can be put to good use, eliminating runners and rocketeers with ease, if you can get close enough. He's a good early game troop but he isn't as helpful as a rocketeer or a runner might be once you are nearing the bricks you need(since he can barely haul). His most useful weapon is his room clearing grenade. The grenade packs a big punch, but once you use it, its gone until you respawn. The grenade does average damage, but blows away and shocks anyone who is hit by it. The result is a group of dazed troops who can be taken out by your team with ease.

Overall, the trooper is most useful for turning the tide of battle with his grenade and is an effective anti-rocketeer troop as well. However, he lacks the brick-stealing power of the runner and the defensive prowess of the rocketeer. As such, his purpose is to support the others instead of being a hard-set offensive or defensive class.

Hard decision of what I want to be...

Good. I want to make all the classes equally fun(gonna have to pull some strings for builders, although the launch wrench might be fun to play around with)


Major update: The class system is in, and the runner & trooper classes are set up(with exception of their secondary weapons)



The builder even seems fun man. Have you not ever been flag carrier in a TDM? It's sometimes fun being an evasive son-of-a-bitch.

While on the topic of unbanning, I assume you are not still mad at me for saying bacon should be banned from blockland, really I shouldn't of said that.

edit: to be on-topic, this really reminds me of team fortress two, however I do have a suggestion for a class.

A driver class(support/ medium speed/50 health), cannot carry bricks, but can drive a bike that may carry him and another person, may weild a pistol, and a wrench for spawning, only if possible.

Ehh, not too likely that I'll add a vehicle class, I do have my eye on a sharp-shooter class, though.

Getting off for the night, but the builder will now also serve as a medic with their new repair wrench.


I hope to add the rest of the secondary weapons tomorrow, and decide on what the rocketeer's will be(post suggestions guise!)

Also, I plan to equip each class with a melee hammer which will allow you to push back enemies slightly and deal some good damage.


Among the things I added to the class system was different scaling for each class-- the Rocketeer is now fat, whereas the Runner is smaller than a normal blockhead. Trooper and Builder have remained the same.

I say, secondary for rocketeer be a battle axe. :P

Adding SharpShooter class.

Sharpshooter -- Support
Medium speed(slightly slower than a trooper), carries a pistol and a rifle.
90 HP
Hauls 2 bricks per load

Weapons
Rifle
  Gun that can shoot fast but will overheat.
  Holds 5 bullets, shoots 1 bullet per shot.
  Reloads 1 bullet per 2 seconds
  30 damage a shot
  1/10 chance of critical shot.
  Crits are instant kills.
  When you fire off a bullet, the gun heats up. The heat of the gun is proportional to the spread on your shots, hotter temperatures = more spread. You could shoot off all your bullets quickly, but they would get less and less accurate.
  This gun does not use auto-reload. You must use up all your bullets before you can reload.


It takes 3 hits to kill a runner, trooper, or sharpshooter. 4 to kill a rocketeer or builder.
Considering this, you'll almost always have enough bullets loaded to kill someone.



Please note that balancing of weapons can and will change as I test them. Example: rockets have undergone many changes including a damage boost, screen shake(the victim), speed upgrade, and they are now effected by gravity. Rockets now also have random reload times-- it could take half a second, or it could take 10 seconds.

Both the pistol & scattergun can load a few extra bullets, and now have "auto reload", where if you're not firing you'll automatically start reloading.
