Well, I can't join most of the servers cause, well i can't load the shapes
I download them but ubuntu files are CASE SENSETIVE. I'd just like to say to add-on makers, capital S always for Add-Ons/Shapes.
Look at your own folders and take them as a reference so i dont have to rename all the folders just because you did them in the wrong case.
Windows is not case sensetive but it runs slower than ubuntu (for me at least) so dont say "go get windows" or some stuff. Just package your add-ons correctly and in the correct case.

so theres two seperate shape folders?
why not just transfer them all manually?

Thats the thing. Torque is case insensitive, so people are not always going to capitalize stuff.

Interesting, I ran it on Ubuntu 7.10 with the latest Wine with no issues. (apart from the occasional random  quit)

because you did them in the wrong case.
Its the wrong case for you and an extremely small number of people. I doubt that they would bother doing anything about this just for a few people who complain. MABY they would if there were more people who used ubuntu.

yeah blockland works fine for me on ubuntu

(apart from a loss of fps)

Did you activate your graphics card? Or unblock it, whatever its called.

I'm no linux expert, but can't you make a symbolic link so that Add-Ons/shapes points to Add-Ons/Shapes?

I've got to say, even I don't like when people capitalise their packaging incorrectly and I'm running XP. I just like to keep my add-ons folder looking organised, not like a pig's ear ripped straight from its head.

It's mainly the way people install things that annoys me more than the packaging!

I've joined several servers through Ubuntu and downloads seem to work fine. The only problem I've noticed (apart from the occasional crash) is some GUIs don't work - I've noticed the Bots Mod GUI not displaying some options and the console displaying an error when you try to open it about keyboard inputs, but it works fine.

Yes.

Blockland windows gets about 120fps
ubuntu gets about 60
