Author Topic: EVE Online  (Read 2153 times)

Eve Online is a player-driven persistent-world massively multiplayer online game set in a science fiction space setting. Players pilot customizable ships through a universe comprising over five thousand solar systems. Most solar systems are connected to one or more other solar systems by means of jump gates. The solar systems can contain several entities including but not limited to: moons, planets, stations, asteroid belts and complexes.

Players of Eve Online are able to participate in any number of in-game professions and activities, including mining, manufacturing, trade and combat (both player versus environment and player versus player). The range of activities available to the player is facilitated by a character advancement system based upon training skills in real time, even while not logged in to the game.

I doubt it will run on my Dell D:

I tried it. It's fun, but way too complex for my simple mind! D:

I'll wait and gain another 5 years. Not even my 21 year old brother can figure it all out. :/

is it pay per month? if so forget that.

I made a thread a while ago 'bout EVE :D . I've made like... 14 trial accounts :D . Maybe I'll buy some time finally.

Also stay away from 4.0 0.4 (and lower) security sectors guys

Edit: Wait was it 0.4? I think it was 0.4 to 0.0, highest security was 1.0

EDIT2:

If you decide to buy some time for it and you're planning on playing a good while I would recommend training the Stat Boosting Skills (Wisdom first, since it reduces training time on the Stat boosting skills allot, and then Intellegence, since it also helps reduce time on Stat boosting skills)

If you plan on playing for just a small while (2 months maybe), then train only the Primary skills up to lvl 4 (excluding charisma since it sucks). If you're going to be playing for a bit longer, try to aim at training them all to lvl 5, excluding Charisma. This should then allow you to train up the Adv. stat boosting skills which cost a fair bit but by that time you'll have enough cash to pay up for them. Train the Advanced stat skills all the way to lvl 4 (5 is a loving 25 day of training time and it's not worth it for 1 point of stat). You can train these when you don't have anything else needing training.

HOW STATS WORK.

All your skills train up depending on how many points you have in the two Stats it uses. Every skill has a Primary stat and a Secondary stat. Here's how the math works out in reducing training time.

For every point in the Primary stat, you remove 1 hour of time out of 24 hours of training that's needed.
For every point in the Secondary stat, you remove 30 minutes out of 24 hours of training that's needed.

This makes a HUGE difference in the long run. At the end of my training, I had 20 Perception, 22 Awareness (or whatever the forget that other one was), 19 Wisdom and 18 Intelligence. I was training up for Carriers, I think I had everything except the Carrier skill book and a few Navigation skills. This was after only a year of playing, I was also almost able to get into either a Minmattar dreadnought or a Gallente dreadnought, since I had the minmattar battleships and gallente battleships skills maxed out already. That's how fast it gets after you finish training up the skills.
