I must say, this is an awesome reply. You were on both sides, yet against both sides, and use logic. That takes skill, dear sir.
I'm not trying to have a fight. I don't have a vendetta against RAM or the people who swear by it. I'm just saying that having more RAM and/or "faster" RAM isn't going to change
much about the detectable performance of a machine. Many state that adding in another stick of RAM is like upgrading from Dial up to cable, but the change isn't that significant. Sure, benchmarks show an improvement, but the average Joe isn't going to notice unless there is a serious problem (likely caused by themselves).
If you want to spend hundreds of dollars on GDDR3 RAM just because it has better timings, then that is your choice.
