Tails, try time trial mode. You get all the weapons, so its good for testing for weaknesses or learning the level layout.

I learned that jewel shield gets you through galaxy man's entire stage without harm.

Galaxy Man is really easy.  First boss I beat.  Now... I'm kinda stuck at the part on water stage where you are at the third screen that you have to use the water filled platforms that fly.  Keep hitting the spikes D:  But I heard that if you throw Rush down on them, you can jump off him :D
