I couldn't tell if you were insulting me or hating on the fact that games no longer come splitscreen. For the sake of my pride, I'll go with the latter. I see games on television, in the store, or read about them online. I recently looked at Burnout: Paradise and Pure. Both games look amazing, and I want to purchase them. But in addition to the games, I would have to buy a router. Xbox Live doesn't work in the dormitory without your very own router in your very own room. You have to configure certain settings before you can connect with your Xbox. You would think that the routers on every floor would be configured to work with consoles, because there are at least 3 on every wing, with 4 wings per floor.
Even if I do buy a router, it has to be a "Tech-Support Certified" one. I'm sure a Linksys would work, but I would have to call the computer store and have them tell me the allowed brands and models. Then, I would have get it authorized by the techies and make sure it was all setup correctly and not interfering with their systems (because a first-year computer engineer doesn't know how to properly set up a router).
Tl;dr, I don't feel like wasting my precious time setting up a router and wasting the minutes on my cell talking through it with some idiot on a workstudy job.
I ought to just buy a Wii. Thanks for the suggestions Yuki, I'll look into them.
