I prefer apples, but oranges are clearly better. It's perfectly reasonable to make a comparison between the 2.

imo portal made more fun than half life 2 but half life 2 has a longer story and is so epicly made.

Its not out yet. You can't make any conclusions because we have not even seen gameplay of it yet.
