It would display the latency between the RTB server and the game server. That's not a terribly useful number to most of us.

We'd atleast be able to see dead servers, though.
Maybe not show the ping but show if it's dead.

Or not show the dead servers at all.

Make it fully developed, I don't want a less quality product because some people are too impatient to wait a few weeks, nonetheless.

Will this update have GUI downloading?

GUI Downloading is already done in v3, yeah.

Also the lighter release I proposed would still contain all the necessary things for RTB to run nicely, it just wouldn't have some of the things that give it the extra awesome. And those extra features would be in the order of weeks, not days.

I'd like to see a small update sooner.

  • Integration with MSN and AIM to let you talk to msn/aim people from in Blockland

You don't need legal rights to develop a system to cooperate with someone else's programs.

I guess.
Law isn't quite my thing.

AIM/MSN would be useful, but completely unnecessary.  Also, I could wait a few weeks.  I'd also like to say it takes god knows how long to load the mods in the mod manager for downloading.

We've ditched that for now due to Torque lacking in any sort of standard encryption protocols. It wouldn't be ideal to be transmitting your MSN passwords in plain-text. Furthermore people could easily make malicious add-ons to grab your MSN password out of your prefs so I'd rather not be responsible for all of that.

Yeah this was due to no pagination/badly optimized SQL/lots of data being transmitted. It's not slow at all now.

Ah.  If anything when I become alot more experienced with TCPObjects I could see about making my own personal version.  But until then, I'll live with another MSN/AIM client.
