Author Topic: I have a virus.  (Read 1880 times)

It causes random popups and one popup telling me to install some fake antivirus software.  I'm downloading the kaspersky trial to destroy it.  If it's smitfraud, how do I remove all traces?

i had a smitfraud but there was only one :o

If it's smitfraud, there's an exe that destroys it out there called smitfraudfix.

Just call the geek squad if your having trouble. Unless it's obvious.

I fixeyed teh smitfraud mysefl.
Deleted some important files on the way, though...

I once had the dumbest pop up virus I could find. It let it's self able to be deleted like any program via the delete window in control panel. I deleted it and rid some useless registry keys and I was good to go.

That's the most handicapped thing you've said.

Geek squad knows absolutely nothing about computers, except to reformat them. Even then, it will cost you like $300, it's better to just do it yourself.

Call Bill Gates if it is so serious...
If it is named Ucantdeletme.rofl

You should go to the doctor.
