As neat as that is, i don't like it, Mario is shorter and chubbier than Luigi, Mario's hair and mustache is a bit lighter, and Mario's mustache is different than Luigi's mustache
I'm currently working on Mr M, unlike yours which looked like a quick edit, i'm making mine from scratch on top of a picture of Paper Mario, here's a progress picture

The shoes were an annoying pain to do, the M on top was pretty easy, the mask was easy as well, remember, i'm using Paint.net and not Photoshop, so this is gonna be rather tough to do, especially the bandanna that's gotta go around Mario's neck D:

Also with yours, don't use a soft brush over the original, you can see the slight fuzziness, unlike the rest of the picture that is nice and crisp, unless you plan to paint over the whole thing that is ;)

I didn't like the "full latex" suit so he's still got the blue overalls on ;) and I also used Reguliths advice with the M, it kinda works. Sadly W was already taken ;)

The eyes, i used the glow effect several times along with blur trying to match Mr. L's eyes, but i couldn't do it, so i stuck with the fuzziness, the mask, i used the line tool to outline it and the paintbrush to fill it in

Agreed, the new versions seem a little boring. Thousand year door was alright, it was just impossible to beat the final boss. And Super Paper Mario is okayyy, I just hate the 2D gameplay and that you can only stay 3D for like 10 seconds.

I liked Thousand Year Door better. The story had nice charm to it, the wii paper mario just couldn't captivate my interest at all.

Paper Mario (the original one) actually owns life

My brother and I just played through most of it with 10 HP and it's fun as hell. Playing Paper Mario 2 with a challenge like this would also be fun as hell, and Super Paper Mario ain't got a thing on it.

Also the original has a hilarious sense of humor that I never noticed when I was 7

God, The ending is horrible it says "Do you love me" about 20 times. God, I'm glad I completed it.
