Author Topic: The Ship or Team Fortress 2  (Read 3512 times)

Ok, I am working up some money, and currently have uh...4 dollars :D. My mom owes me 29$, so I really have 33$, so I could either wait to buy a wii game, or I could get a computer game, because my parents dont buy me computer games for christmas, but they buy me wii games. They still let me buy computer games though. So my choices are:

The Ship

http://www.theshiponline.com/

A fun multiplayer game, You are on a cruise boat (several different boats to chose from) and the misterious Mr. X is hosting a hunt thingy. You play as a hunter or passenger. Staff is always played by AI. As a hunter, you find any type of weapon, poison, Glass bottles, guns, fire axes, paintings, anything you can find on board. You have a target: Your quary. Your job is to find your quary and kill them. But every hunter is also the hunted. You are somebody elses target as well. So, your best chance is to get a disguise. Kill other people and take their clothes, or buy clothes from the shop, anything to look differently. You can also get help. Mr. X might tell you where he last saw your target, annd maybe other passengers or staff on board could tell you where they last say him or her. You also need to fuffil your needs. Bathroom Stuff, 1 and 2 need to be 'done' , but watch your back, that is the most likely time to be killed. You need to eat and sleep too. But dont kill too hastily, people are watching. If somebody sees you killing somebody or holding a weapon, there are only a few seconds to stop them (kill them }:D) before they shout out. You could go to jail... boat jail...which is bad.  Okay lets see...thats all i think? oh, right, it comes with the ship online and the ship single player, single player being some kind of story mode i believe, 20$ for the pack. (20$ for ship single player, and then you get the ship multiplayer for free :D)

CHOICE2: Team fortress 2

You all know it, 2 teams, several classes including the famous heavy, the hot pyro, and the *adjective here* medic. Teams fight against each other using weapons, grenades, bottles of alchohals, etc.

Both are powered by Scource Game Engine, Team fortress 2 is owned by scource, the ship is owned by something...with an M starting the word...mind something?

If you have any of these 2 games, share your experiences with me and tell me which you think would be the better game

I have both.

Get TF2 if you like team play, classes, guns, fast-paced games, and gore.
Get The Ship if you like the '20s and improv murder on boats (Don't get the Single Player, it's a huge waste of money and time).

Ubisoft.

Well i like the way The ship has an interesting gameplay and so many features of the game...But the 20's? I dont know, that sounds a little...score dropping...I thought it might have been a bit mroe modern :\

TF2.  I have both, I like TF2 more.

The Ship sounds like a mix of Clue and "And Then There Were None."

The Ship hands down.

I recently tried getting back into Team Fortress 2, it was so boring, no one ever uses mics that much, it feels overpowered at times, and I see no teamwork happening(probably due to no one talking).

In The Ship, it's a fun game, you have to always look behind you, it makes you feel paranoid, and when you finally kill someone, you feel so awesome because you're like an assassin.

You should let someone give you a guest pass(if they do that anymore) for the ship to see if you like it, don't let the '20s thing make the score go lower, it's just a cruise ship with a little bit of older times. Doesn't affect the gameplay in my mind.

There's a decision to make here?

Obviously tf2.

Jsk, you have to find a good server. Do not expect good results from 24/7 orange_x instantrespawn servers. Almost everyone has a mic at the servers I frequent and teamwork is held above all else.

Also tf2 updates. Awesome.

I have been to multiple servers, but if all games/servers of The Ship I've played are fun, and maybe 1/10 servers in TF2 are fun/teamwork, isn't it obvious which I would have a higher chance of having fun in?

I hang around

[AS] Sauerstoffzelt and Sitting Ducks - Team Fortress 2

And sometimes zero bullstuff

I have both.
I'd say go for TF2. There are only around 20 servers for the ship, 15 of them empty, 3 of them with nothing but bots.

How does a time period sound "Score Dropping"?

for example, I love CoD modern warfare, but I pretty much hated all those world war two Call of duties. Time can add or subtract certain features such as understanding things, weapons, and map looks

TF2: 4

Ship: 1

Everyone has different opinions I suppose

2 of my friends say  that TF2 is really fun, one of them hates me though, so actally its mroe like 1 friend and a guy say TF2 is fun, but my other more sophisticated friend (overly mature if thats the word to use,...other words may be sense of humor cancer, too tight, and...yeah) said he wants the ship because it has a bunch of features that make it realistc, like washing, eating and drinking, stuffting, etc.

Time to go to the ultimate source of knowledge...WIKIPEDIA [/sarcasm]
(Youtube)

Uh those features are only to make the game harder. It's not a life sim or anything.
For example while washing your hands or stuffting, the person that needs to kill you may come in and beat the living hell out of you with a god damn umbrella or a pool table stick.

true...I jsut saw a gameply video of TF2, and it looked completely epic, but my worries are...ive played team fps's before, combat arms, call of duty online, what makes this one so amazing other than amazing classes and unique skills?

Also, does TF2 tie into the HL based story? (like the companies, or anything? Isnt one of the classes a black mesa person?)
