Scariest game you've ever played?

I was afraid of playing half-life as a kid(I watched cousin play it) then I grew out of my fear. I think AvP 2 can be scary at times, like when you go down a dark hall way and your flash goes out and then an alien jumps up infront of your face and you jump out of your seat.

Suspense is not true horror.

It's when games give you paranoia and make you want to stop playing because you are about to stuff your pants, that's true horror.

Suspense games are best. Horror? I'm desensitized to blood and guts. Not really a problem.

Doom 3 is the worst I've played when it comes to suspense. I found myself holding my breath on occasions.

There's a Penumbra tech demo around somewhere, but it's a full game.

Also, Alone in the Dark. It wasn't the zombies, it was that loving jellyfish umbrella in the bathtub.

God I hate it when there a ghost appears out of nowhere for a milisecond, screaming so loud when there was no ambient before that you just need to stuff in your pants. Oh my, and the negative effect moments..
