The "stick up [my] ass" is the fact that all you are worshiping a game because it was the first FPS, yet it wasn't even that good. Most of you couldn't even walk or talk when it first came out so don't start yapping on about "the glory days".

You all sound like WW2 veterans proudly barking out tales about how fun it was to watch your friends die or artillery shells land 10 ft from you in the trenches of god-knows-where. Then only difference being that you weren't in the war, and you are just repeating someone else's grand tales of the glory days.

I worship it because it's an important piece of history. Also, because I loving love it, and I played it when It came out. It's an excellent game. If you don't like it, I don't actually give a stuff.

No, it's because the engine build it was made on sparked other games to be developed and shared, giving it a larger presence and in-turn, creating modders. May I remind you of Duke 3D and Shadow Warrior? Simply because it existed spawned the PC as a platform.

Doom is still fun these days but its not like you need to worship the bloody thing, if you still LOVE IT so much you should just stick with Skulltag and not bother going around yelling at people because they don't like an old game. Some of the original genre games sucked ass full stop, Doom is no exception for some people.

I don't really know the whole thing behind it, like if it's a fan based thing or whatever, but I think it looks handicapped when people type it as DooM.  Why?  Because the logo?

Actually, I did. My father bought the game, and while he was at work I, apparently, broke out of my crib and got DOS to boot it (After watching him do it, obviously).
