i don't know business culture but nobody with gay ear holes ever makes it in corporate culture lol
I've made it pretty well so far. If I lose my job because of my physical appearance, it's not a job I want to have anyway. If someone is going to judge you and assume you have no work ethic because you have a 4mm hole in your ear, then forget them.
This time is a bit different. Imagine 60 year olds with saggy ear holes and tattoos all over their bodys along with a bunch of piercings/piercing holes.
No it's not, it's not different at all. 30 years ago, people were freaking out over leather pants and tattoo's saying "oh gawd when u r ___ years old u wil be so gros!!11!"
50 years ago people were freaking out about how people were taking LSD and wearing natural fibers and not showering. (most likely one of your parents)
80 years ago people were freaking out when a woman wore a dress that showed her ankles. we turned out fine (better actually, i'm a fan of exposed legs)
what i'm saying is get the forget over it. every generation has their way of personalizing themselves. whether it be wearing a greatful dead shirt, a leather jacket, or a piece of plastic in your ear. who the forget cares. you are who you are because that's who you want to be. everybody floats on. the only ones that don't are the bitter old forgets that nobody wants to be around anyway. the people who do nothing but complain about how todays generation is blahblahblah. mother forgeter if that's how you go through life you'll be nothing but disappointed.
