You look like quite the gentleman, and look sharp in a tux to boot. The white vest with a black tux and a light hue tie is a safe way to go. I myself had a black vest, black tux, and a red tie.

They are aggressive because you are insulting the way they look and many people get very agitated/defensive about that thing. The only purpose I can see for you to say such things is to push their patience. How about you not be a richard and compliment one or both of them without any insinuation of them being ugly or any snide commentary.
