Author Topic: Who's Getting Windows 7?  (Read 7703 times)

I'm just saying they are adding a lot of pointless stuff in there.
As for the too user friendly thing, your devices menu now has huge 200x200 pictures of what the device actually is, just in case you can't read. Enjoy.
There's pointless stuff (which is an opinion in most cases) on almost everything.
For example, the keyboard. Scroll lock was used for one ancient program, and the pop menu button (to the left of the right ctrl) is just like right clicking, except that it's not actually a right click. The pause/break button is a rarely used button. Usually used by single player FPS games. (And one online game where pausing was a togglable feature in co-op and deathmatch, even with options of host only and anyone in the server.)
Humans grow hair on their ass.
These forums tell us the time at the top, assuming we don't already have a clock in the bottom right corner.
Notepad has a shortcut to insert date and time.
Macs exist. (Have fun with your 3 or so games guys. Oh, and iTunes works like garbage.)

Some form of chip that goes into a cellular phone. No, the chip isn't pointless, the extremely small size is, infact, someone almost lost one on a clean floor.

But we put all these things aside, and focus on the good stuff.
We don't need to pay attention to any of this.
Now enjoy the other mass of features that you have nothing against in Windows 7.

tl;dr:
Stuff has stuff. Others like it. Enjoy your Windows 7.

I hope the compatability is simalar to vista, and not worse. But other than that, I will probably upgrade to this when I get a new pc next summer.

I'll install Windows 7 64-bit eventually when I find a big enough DVD or even a DVD.
64-bit operating systems can run on 2 GB, right?

I dunno, 32 bit's epic already though.  I wish my Linksys bridge thingy worked with it though.

32 bit is less processing power :(

It's already loving fast.

Whatever is better for you...

Also found out, yes you can run 64-bit with 2 GB RAM.

I am using Windows 7 Beta 64-bit.

I love it, no compatibility issues at all.

WE ARE ALL GONNA LIVE ON SOME GIANT SPACE SHIP AND SIT IN THOSE HOVERING CHAIRS THAT TAKE US AROUND AND HAVE ROBOTS DO EVERYTHING FOR US. JUST LIKE IN WALL-E. IT WILL HAPPEN.
Now I don't know about that, but Ray Bradbury's predictions of the future in Fahrenheit 451 are becoming pretty true. Among the few things we're missing are the normal book burnings, although they happen on occasion, and the television characters that talk back to you. Windows 7 responding to voice commands? One step closer!

Will be getting it once it comes out. I wonder when they will decide to release it.

I can't wait for the robot dog's and no speed limit. That will be fun!  :cookieMonster:

Will windows 7 make it easier to move/delete files? Honestly, that's my main problem with vista. The friendry I must go through to delete one folder... I gave up on deleting things. (That's why my desktop's so messy. :<)

I was playing with that yesterday, it sucks, badly.

Question (Too lazy to make my own thread)

I'm getting this for when Windows 7 Beta ends. I read up that OEM means Original Equipment Manufacturer, and there are two types. One that comes bundled with pre-built computers for restoring the O/S and another type that is purchased and can be used on any system (but only that system).

I'm a little confused on this, though, so what is OEM in my case?
If I upgrade my computer even more, will I still be able to use the same key/copy? (Again, I'm buying this.)

I think if you buy OEM, you're fine, it just doesn't have the $100 manual (Put disk in, press install).
