you could use a small prop as a placeholder and then use some photoshop or similar to edit in the lasers

r_projectedtexture_filter 0.2
mat_depthbias_shadowmap 0.00001

you can change these, but i would try leaving mat_depthbias_shadowmap at 0.0001 instead of 0.00001.
