this thread has been in limbo since it was made. i dont think it will ever really die.
here's a lego update though. i contacted some people on craigslist who were selling legos and tomorrow me and jirue are gonna go pick them up.

$100 for this 100% complete w/ box and instructions

its pretty pricey but he said it's all there with the box and everything. a couple stickers are missing though so it's more like 99% i guess. also I was able to talk him down from $125 so I'm happy especially since similar items in the same condition on bricklink go for quite a bit more
