if you want to improve it more, the nails don't look like they're all in the same position. (ex: some are jutting out more, some are rotated.)

I see how it goes in on the, "handle" part in the other pictures. If you want to do that, just add another stack and scale it, then move it in.

And out of curiosity. Can you make things mount to hands?
Like an offhand accessory? Because then shields could be separate items.
