Bevel it please. It's just a cylinder.

Wanted to try remaking the Uber-Rifle (first Add-On I ever deemed fit to release) so that it fits in with the rest of the Uber-Weaponset.

Top is the original, bottom is the 're-vamped" version.

How'd I do?

So hot.

-snip-

I think the new one is awesome, and i also think that the new one has less polys, am i right?

quite.

The original model that went in-game had over 6000 polygons (at the time I had NO clue what a polycount was). I later reduced that by removing a stuff ton of errors and dropped it down to 2000. these two together is about 3000, so the new is under 2000 polygons.

EDIT: approximately 1900 faces. I'll get the final count once I get this into blender.

Just roll with smoothshaded octagon barrel. Seriously that barrel is way too round.

I agree.

It's not that it is too high poly, it just doesn't look good in general.

It's the original barrel from the original Uber-Rifle, so Im keeping it. The few unchanged parts were left in on purpose due to the sentimental value in this gun as my first addon.

I didn't know there where such thing as too round barrel.
