It may not be human but it is a humanoid and does appear to follow basic human muscle structure.

smooth all.
Then select faces that you want to be the smoothing group, press y.

smooth all.
Then select faces that you want to be the smoothing group, press y.

or turn EdgeSplit modifier on, turn From Edge Angle off and then select the edges you want to be sharp and press ctrl E and select make sharp, then if you do one you didn't want just select it and ctrl E clear sharp.
