Author Topic: The new and improved 3D model topic!  (Read 4688319 times)

What are you talking about. There's an entire tutorial on it, I just don't have the time to put tighter the skeleton myself.
Best of luck to you, because its buggy as hell. :^)

Just gonna put this in here since the animation thread(s) are too old to bump. :(

Working on a short ~10 sec animation with DarkStar's Blockhead rig in Blender.
LOL IVE DONE THAT TWIC NOB cool, i'd like to see it when i'm done

I tried to make a walking cycle with the blockhead rig like a week ago but it looked really loving wierd

also is there any decent and quick (not 2 hour long blenderguru stuff) tutorial on basic rigging?

You can't just make new .dsqs like that :(

the world isnt that simple
You can make DSQ's just like that but making them with the Blockhead model and in a manner that they work with the default Blockhead is a whole another thing.

That's what i was implying.. >.>

Working on a short ~10 sec animation with DarkStar's Blockhead rig in Blender. Should have it done tomorrow or Tuesday. Also, if someone has a Blockhead skeleton setup in Blender, I'd love to use it to make some custom animations for Blockland - maybe emotes? :P

Some progress on a leather notebook writing kit. The leather straps that hold the pen and eraser need tweaking and I still haven't started on the stitching but I think I will do that next. I also need a strap and buckle to hold the thing closed. Not rigged yet.

I tried to make it as realistic as possible and actually think about what kind of leather pieces you'd need to sew in to hold the book and papers rather than just sticking 'em there. I still took some shortcuts as I highly doubt a heavy book like that could be held in place with just friction. I might make the book thinner. I'm still unsure about the leather and book cover thicknesses. I feel like my leather is way too thin at 2 millimeters.

-notebook!-
Huh, nice. I've never seen anything like that before, where'd you get the idea from?

the power of physics compels you
Any tips on making things like this? (yes, i know it's not a perfect loop)

All I see is a black square...

All I see is a black square...
maybe it's because i slapped a big ole gif image onto my post, added a link instead

Well... Blender just had to go and bork my file... so no animation in the immediate future, sorry. :/

However, I think I am going to begin work again on my other animation project (Flash/After Effects) that I've been putting off for a while now...

Game mechanics + practicality. A main character needs to write things down on the go so it needs to be something portable that has everything you need. The document holder is just a bonus. I have also been watching some leather working videos on YouTube. Leather is cool.

Ignore this, rendering it now (overnight). I decided to push through and get it done anyway, just minus most of the feet (the borked part). Is anyone here familiar with DarkStar's rig enough to be able to tell me why the toes curved upwards and inwards when I reopened the file, with no obvious fix? At the same time, the transform controls locked up, and I was only able to move the models with the properties window and the "g" hot key. Neither of these things fixed themselves, even when editing and re opening Blender.
