why the hell do you care so much? seriously the only thing you've said to him is disable ambient occlusion.
Well what else is there to say? The render looks great but it won't look anywhere near as great in blockland.

Except this isn't the Blockland In-Game Models Megathread...

is it even for blockland? I mean, it has opening doors...

Yeah, this topic is about making the models look lovey. Frankly, I'm surprised you didn't give it a full out render.

Hi!

*waves frantically*

On a serious note, opening doors have been possible for a while. Here's a tutorial about how to make it work.

Thanks for a tutorial, but you're kinda a bit late because I added interactive vehicle support few days ago. Here's a screenshot:

(I was playing around with windows a bit so that's why they are so glitchy)
The only issue I'm having is that you can't have 2 doors open at once, I know what's causing it but just didn't get to fixing it. I've been re-working my Marussia lately too, end up deleting half of the model, I'll show you progress when I'll have more done.

You can have two doors open at once if you set the second door to a different thread. You can have up to 4 animation threads, which is enough for a 2 door sedan with openable hood and trunk. If you want more, you have to get a little creative.

The model looks nice, by the way. I'm liking the panel gaps.

looks great, an in-game shot at a brighter angle would be nice

The issue I have is that animation of one door overrides the other (yes sequences are blended), it's so when they're exported in the .dts itself. I'll try to export .dsq externally.

Sure thing.
Oh yeah, I also couldn't resist making a tuned variant which resembles 2013 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Squadra Corse to catch up to Night_Hawk's Bolt.

Open the image you find fancy in a new tab to get bigger resolution.
(Spoiler on the tuned variant has some faces smoothed when they aren't supposed to be, already fixed)
(Also glass is still broken because I was playing with it, fixing)

Now I need to ask one question, take a look at the interior of 2013 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 AKA normal variant:

Now take a look at Squadra Corse:

The only difference is in the re-paintable parts, I currently did only the normal variant, but the question is - should I do different interior for tuned variant? Because it's just different materials, that's all.

-snip-

Yeah, export the sequences as dsq animations. I only used blend animations for the steering wheel movement, door opening/closing anims are bog standard animations, no special options were used. If you need some more reference, feel free to poke around in my cars.

I didn't know sketchup had those capabilities. That's awesome.

SketchUp is a serious modeling program, despite what most think. It's UI is deceptively simple and there is a lot it is incapable of, but it's extremely intuitive and optimized. All of my work is from Sketch too.

My two most recent models; the second is currently a work in progress and will probably undergo a lot of revisions.
