Yeah but the bikes don't have bulky car bodies to distract from them, the velocipede has a big wheel, so it's very eye catching

I mean, it's nice that you're trying to be consistent but i dunno, the wheels are the first thing i notice and it just feels weird

The amount of vertices on a cylinder in general needs to be proportional to the overall size of the object.
keep that in mind and you will save some vertices some places, make others look better with more and still have the style look great.
