2nd project, i realized i was doing the inner part in the least practicle way (via extruding after deleting a cut part), so i want to ask you guys if theres a way i can add one of those indented parts without all the fuss of extruding seperately

I'm planning on making a rifle but I'm going to need a ref blockhead, just the ones in the sticky thread are all HUGE when opened in blender. Does anyone have a ref blockhead .obj I can use?

edit: just realised thats a blend file
I can't convert it right now

dunno if anyone realizes this but the entire model is actually slightly behind to where the mountpoint/center is (by a fraction though- still noticeable)

I've scaled and translated models perfectly so that the stock rests gently on the shoulder and then have it clip inside in-game.

speaking of rigs, does anyone have a blockhead arm ref for blender?

another gun, slightly better i guess

gonna post different angles tomorrow, also how do you shrink images again?

the real question is why does it bend in the front

it bends back

would anyone here be willing to import my models from sketchup and add muzzle nodes, mount points, etc and potentially animations? I tried with my short attention span but i can't even figure out mount points much less animating

the real question is why does it bend in the front

because i made it

you may want to flip those faces or else they will appear invisible when you'll import the model somewhere else

oh yea, noticed that, didnt know what it was, how2fix?

also when im making a model using both cylinders and cubes, (like this: https://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=qTltwdzG3Hg) do i make both meshes in one or do I make separate?

yeah sure your models are sweet and i'd be glad to help you out

pm me the obj's or add me on steam (Conan Buchanan) and we'll sort it out there.

for 1) select the inverted faces in edit mode and click "recalculate normals" under UV mapping/shading tab on the left bar

as for 2) that depends on what you're going for. If you want to make certain aspects of the model reflected or arrayed using modifiers you'll need to at least temporarily have those as separate objs to apply the modifiers on just them. otherwise its just a modeling preference - i find it easier most of the time to have the bunch of meshes under one object since i don't have to keep switching between object/edit mode. If there's a bunch of things in the same area though that could impact my ability to select certain parts of the model i'll split those off temporarily.
